Making a Difference

Amy’s Story

Amy was born a beautiful bouncing baby on July 21st 1994. Her first six years were normal and healthy but in March 2001, aged six, she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. This was just the start of her long brave fight against the disease.

MAKING FRIENDS

During her treatment, Amy met her hero, Newcastle player Alan Smith a number of times, who supported her during her stints in hospital. Alan is patron of the Amy Wallace Magpie Trust.

BRAVE BATTLE

On May 30th 2008 Amy lost her brave battle against Leukemia, just seven weeks before her 14th birthday. Her parents Nick and Pam formed this charity in her memory.

What We Do

We saw how much the small, extra acts of kindness helped Amy and boosted her spirits during her illness. It is our aim to help others who are going through the same trauma and hopefully make a difference, no matter how small.

All money raised by our charity goes directly to the patients where they need it most. Whether it be small gifts or necessities, educational days, special days out or indeed special ‘Wishes’. Please see our Wishes page to find out more about the special projects and experiences we have provided in the past. LEARN MORE

How You Can Get Involved

There are so many ways you can help us make a difference. We rely on your generosity and good deeds to help us create memories that last a lifetime for patients. However, there are more ways you can get involved other than by donating money.

Donating your time is just as helpful, whether you want to hold a cake sale, an auction or donate an experience day we’d love to hear from you. Learn More
